Gwynedd Business Forum
The Gwynedd Business Forum is responsible for overseeing and co-ordinating economic development activity and keeps an eye on the European Structural Funds that are currently operational in Gwynedd, including the Convergence Programme and the Rural Development Programme. Gwynedd Council's Economy and Community Department provides guidance for the Forum and is the Secretariat. Membership includes representation from Gwynedd Business Network, Federation of Small Businesses, Bangor University, Business Wales Service, Group Llandrillo, Snowdonia Enterprise Zone and relevant officers and members of Gwynedd Council. Gwynedd Business Network (GBN)
The Gwynedd Business Network is represented on the Board of the North Wales Economic Ambition Board, which provides a platform for economic growth in the region.
GBN is also represented on the Steering Group which are leading a bid to secure UNESCO World Heritage Site status for the slate industry of North Wales. The slate industry has been central in shaping the social and economic landscape of Gwynedd. Now, Gwynedd Council and its stakeholder partners, including Cadw, the National Museum of Wales, the Royal Commission on Ancient and Historical Monuments in Wales, Bangor University, The National Trust, the Slate Wales Partnership and Snowdonia National Park Authority, are seeking to gain international recognition of that remarkable success.
